The Warm Weather is Coming!

So I'll get you up to date on my research and ideas as soon as I can.  We've been very busy lately (ok... when are we not busy?!) and taking care of my seedlings is taking up time as well.  So far, I have started bush peas, bush beans, vine beans, pumpkin, zucchini and morning glories.  I'll post pictures of everything as soon as I get a chance and get the actual names of the seeds too.  We've also purchased 2 2x8x10' and had two smaller pieces cut into 3ft lengths (I LOVE that they will cut the wood for you at the Home Depot!) pressure treated pieces of wood to build our new garden.  It will be 3ft by 10ft when it's done and 8 inche deep!  This new garden will be home to everything except the vine beans and pumpkins.  Those will go in the existing garden.

The new garden is going to be built on the north side of our fence in the back yard.  Our house faces West so the back yard gets full morning sun, however, the current garden is on the south side of the fence and gets shadowed by the fence for most of the morning.  Hopefully this new garden placement will be better.  We still plan on using the old garden for the pumpkins (which will probably consume the whole thing) and the vine beans so they can climb the fence.  We are also hoping the vine beans provide a bit of protect from the neighbours weeds which continuously destroy our grass!  We'll see if that plan works out or not.
